AI coaching for apprenticeships, built from the standard.
Give Nova 5 an apprenticeship standard, a regulated qualification or your own programme. In about 20 minutes it builds a programme's worth of practice mapped to the knowledge, skills and behaviours, with a coach beside every activity on the apprentice's phone. Your tutors approve what it builds. Your assessors and the end-point assessment organisation still decide.
- Mapped to KSBs and learning outcomes
- Practice on the phone, in the learner's language
- Self-serve, monthly, no learner minimum
In plain terms
AI coaching for UK apprenticeship providers, FE colleges and employers.
Nova 5 is an AI coaching platform for vocational education from SupaHuman, built for Australia and New Zealand and now taking early partners in the United Kingdom. You upload an apprenticeship standard with its knowledge, skills and behaviours, an Ofqual-regulated qualification specification, or an internal programme. Nova 5 builds learning and practice activities for every KSB or outcome, maps each one back to it, and gives apprentices a coach beside every activity. It supports on-programme learning and gateway preparation. It is not an end-point assessment and does not make assessment decisions.

A worked example
From a Level 2 Adult Care Worker standard to a week of practice.
Upload the standard. Nova 5 reads the duties and the KSBs, decides what is worth practising, and builds it. Here is the shape of what comes back for one knowledge, skill and behaviour group on safeguarding and dignity.
Recognise and respond to concerns
The standard asks the apprentice to know the signs of abuse and neglect, to act on concerns in line with policy, and to treat people with dignity while doing it. Three things to know, one to do, one to be.
A role play, a scenario and a fault finder
A voice role play with a resident who hints that something is wrong at home. A branching scenario on who to tell and in what order. A fault finder with a care record where the signs were missed. Each mapped back to the KSB it practises.
Reviews, approves, assigns
The tutor sees the activities, edits anything that does not match the setting, approves them, and assigns them for the week. The apprentice does them on their phone between shifts, with a coach that explains what they missed and why.
Towards gateway
The same engine builds practice for the professional discussion and the observation. An apprentice can rehearse a professional discussion with the AI playing the assessor, on their own time, as many times as they need, before they do it once for real. The portfolio, the gateway decision and the end-point assessment stay exactly where they are: with you and the EPAO.
Where it fits in the apprenticeship
On programme and at gateway. Never the assessment.
Practice between sessions
Role plays, scenarios and coached practice for each KSB, assigned by the tutor week by week. Progress and time on task are tracked, so you can see who practised what, and evidence the learning that happened.
Rehearsal before the real thing
Mock professional discussions with the AI as assessor. Observation preparation that walks through what the assessor will look for. Knowledge tests in the format the EPAO uses.
The line we hold
Nova 5 builds practice and coaching. It does not grade, does not record competence and does not communicate assessment decisions. The EPAO assesses; the provider signs off gateway; the apprentice's evidence is theirs.
Whether practice in Nova 5 counts towards off-the-job training hours depends on how and when it is scheduled under the funding rules that apply to you. Nova 5 reports time on task so you can make that call and evidence it.
Questions UK providers ask
The things to know before we talk.
Yes. Upload the standard, or the assessment plan alongside it, and Nova 5 maps every activity it builds to a knowledge, skill or behaviour. It works the same way with Ofqual-regulated qualification specifications, SVQ and NVQ units, and internal programmes. Try it with a real standard in the playground first.
No, and it never will. Nova 5 builds practice and coaching, including rehearsal for the professional discussion and observation. The EPAO assesses. The provider signs off gateway. Nova 5 makes no competence, grading or certification decision.
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, with you as controller and SupaHuman as processor under our Data Processing Addendum, which has a UK annex with the Article 28 processor terms. Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services in Sydney, Australia, with transfers under the DPA and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where required. Learner data is never used to train models for anyone else. If you need UK hosting, tell us in the form.
Ofsted inspects the quality of education, not the tools. What Nova 5 gives you is evidence: activities mapped to the standard, tutor approval of what learners see, time on task and progress by KSB, and a clear record that assessment decisions stayed with people. Use it to show how learners practise and how tutors check their understanding.
The same as at home, converted: A$5 per learner a month (about £2.50) with every practice type included, plus A$10 a month (about £5) for each standard or unit Nova 5 builds and keeps current. Billed monthly through the app in Australian dollars; your card provider converts. Early partners in the UK have no learner minimum.
In Australia and New Zealand, Nova 5 watches the national registers every month. In the UK there is no register to watch yet, so when a standard or specification is revised you upload the new version and Nova 5 rebuilds the affected practice through the same approval flow. Nothing changes without a tutor approving it.
